BeerWorks has moved the Beer Fest to November so that we may all enjoy some cooler weather and less chance of a hurricane.

We also have a new venue this year for an enhanced festival experience. Please join us on November 16th at the Port St. Lucie Civic Center for the 6th annual Treasure Coast Beer Festival.

Once again, we will have many American and International Craft Beers. We will also be featuring some of the finest local breweries and home brewing clubs on Florida's east coast.

This is a charity event and other than operational costs associated with running the festival, all monies are given to local charities.

BEER COMPETITION

Last year we introduced beer judging as a 'Homebrew Competition'. We plan to include this in our upcoming fest as well so beginning thinking about your entry!!

Only beers that are brewed by 'non-professionals' can be entered. In other words, no commercially sold beers. That includes craft, and non-craft alike.

This Homebrew competition is meant to be a fun event with great prizes. Only one 12oz bottle need be entered, and can be entered the day of the festival. Although not an AHA (American Homebrewers Association) sanctioned competition, it will indeed be judged by at least two AHA certified judges. Things the judges will be looking for are the same as a sanctioned competition, which includes aroma, flavor, color, carbonation, and overall quality of the beers. Any flaws in the beers detract points from the score.

The winner of the competition will receive a certificate for them and 19 of their friends, to enjoy a private beer-tasting event hosted by Total Wine & More. 2nd & 3rd prizes TBA. Contact us for more information.

Last year's event was another successful fundraiser for charities in our local community. This brings your contributions to over $40,000 since these festivals began. Choosing the charities each year is one of the most difficult decisions we, as a non-profit organization, make. This is something we do not take lightly. Painstakingly huddled around a table --while sessioning the most unique of beers-- we listen to ideas on where our community is suffering most. Then, finalists are invited to present their case. Finally, the decision is made. It is not easy, yet in the end, your help maximizes dollars needed desperately in our community. As we continue this process, we appreciate your patience as we close in on deciding this year's 2013 benefactors.

2013 CHARITIES

A few years ago, six individuals organized the First "Treasure Coast Beer Fest" in Historic Downtown Fort Pierce, Florida. Because of the success of that festival, Beerworks Charitable Foundation Inc., a 501(c)3 corporation, was established. Our mission is to educate people about the many styles of beer the world has to offer, and at the same time raise money for local charities.
